The Miami Design District is a neighborhood north of Midtown in Miami, Florida, United States. It is within the Buena Vista and southern extremity of Little Haiti neighborhoods. It is roughly divided by NE 36th Street to the south, NE 43rd Street to the north, NW 1st Avenue to the west and Biscayne Boulevard (US 1) to the east.

The bohemian  little  enclave  known  as  the “Miami Design District “ is  Covering a mere 18-square blocks—Northeast 36th to 41st street  between  North Miami and  Northeast Second avenues-this  unique  and  pedestrian - friendly community  is  just north of  downtown  Miami, less than ten minutes from South Beach and is rapidly becoming all the rage with artists, interior designers and  fashion mavens alike”. It is home to over 130 art galleries, showrooms, creative services, stores, antiques dealers, eateries and bars. Every 2nd Saturday of each month a community wide Art & Design Night is held from 7-10pm. A popular event, Art Galleries and Design Showrooms open their doors to the public for music and refreshments...

In 2011, Louis Vuitton announced plans to open a Louis Vuitton store in the neighborhood by 2014 after announcing its closure of its Bal Harbour Shops store (the first Louis Vuitton store to open outside of New York City), along with opening other brands from the LVMH company in the Design District, including stores such as Sephora, Marc Jacobs, Givenchy, and Fendi
.

One of the largest developers in the Design District, Craig Robins, plans to bring 40 to 50 luxury retailers to the neighborhood by 2014, competing with long-established Miami shopping areas such as Lincoln Road and Bal Harbour Shops.

In October 2011, Hermes, Cartier and Dior announced plans to move their stores from Bal Harbour Shops to the Design District in late 2011 and 2012.
